Before joining Capital Link in 2007, Russ held senior level positions throughout state legislative and executive branch agencies, assisting in all aspects of the legislative process. That experience enables him to serve his clients' with a clear understanding of the inner workings of the state government and Kentucky General Assembly. His portfolio of clients include Fortune 500 corporations, Chambers of Commerce and trade associations of every size.
As Director of State Legislative Affairs at Capital Link, Russ has worked on every major piece of legislation that has come before the General Assembly over the last several years. In that process, he developed close relationships across federal, state and county governments, enabling the seasoned counsel and strategic planning contributions that are valued resources for every client of the firm.
Russ received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and a Jurist Doctorate from Northern Kentucky's Chase College of Law. A lifelong Kentuckian, Russ now lives in Louisville with his wife Mackenzie and their daughter Harper.
